What is aerial photography?

An aerial photograph shows an overview of land, water and property, and provides information not available at ground level. If time and date-stamped, it becomes a valuable reference of ground conditions at a given time.

Aerials may be taken from an airplane, helicopter or remote-controlled device. Most of the aerial work I do is from small over-head-wing planes, such as a Cessna 172, chartered with a pilot from a reputable company near the job location.

  • Real Estate offices – I’ve worked with local realtors since 1995. My images are seen on the covers of real estate magazines and brochures, as well as being used for property-specific advertising. A portfolio is available on request.
  • Property owners – Over the years, property owners have hired me to take aerial photographs for their personal or commercial use.
  • Documentary and artistic projects – Certain subjects, such as tall ships, the ferry boats of Puget Sound, the Oregon Dunes and rush hour traffic congestion are showcased nicely by aerial photography. I’ve added an aerial dimension to many of my documentary subjects, as you can see in the Gallery pages linked above.
  • To produce the highest quality images, Demar uses top-rated digital SLR cameras, 12 mega pixel resolution or more, with an assortment of wide angle to telephoto lenses, each with vibration reduction.

 

Aerial photography services provided by Robert Demar

  • A selection of images is provided, according to the customer’s needs.
  • Image resolution will be sufficiently high to allow cropping and resizing for printed media.
  • Unlimited use of all images is allowed for both printed media and the web.
  • For every job, a proof sheet is provided with the CD for immediate reference to its content.
  • Quick turn around time. Once the shoot is accomplished, I generally supply the images on a CD within 24 hours.

 

Rates for aerial photography by Robert Demar

  • One property - $150
  • Two properties - $250
  • Three properties - $300
  • Rates include air time and expenses.
  • Rates include computer time to process 12 or more images per property.
  • Extra charges may be added depending on actual air time and distance from airport.
  • Extra charges may be added to cover expenses of travel to the job location.
  • Extra charges may be added for more images per property.
  • I will gladly quote rates for specific locations and requirements.

 

Availability for aerial photography assignments

I am available at almost any time to shoot aerial photographs in any location. Clear weather is generally desirable and a factor in scheduling a shoot. Availability of a suitable aircraft and pilot may also affect the timing of an assignment.
